Heide and Jose Dans Hosted the 2025 Miami-Dade County Public Schools’ Alumni Hall of Fame Induction Reception

MIAMI, FL – February 10, 2025 – WOW MKTG Founder and President Jose Dans and his wife, Heide Dans, hosted an exclusive reception at their home in honor of the newest inductees of the Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) Alumni Hall of Fame. This distinguished event gathered community, business, and education leaders, including M-DCPS Superintendent Jose L. Dotres, to celebrate eight exceptional public school graduates whose achievements have made a lasting impact in their fields and the community.

The Class of 2025 inductees join a prestigious group of alumni who exemplify excellence, leadership, and dedication to their industries. Among them are the following:

  • Kris Anderson (Miami Central Senior High, 1994) – NBC6 South Florida Morning News Anchor, Six-time Emmy Award-Winning Journalist
  • Adrianne Calvo (G. Holmes Braddock Senior High, 2002) – Celebrity Chef, Restauranteur, and Author, Recipient of the Floridian Culinary Best Chef Award
  • Marshall Davis, Sr. (Miami Northwestern Senior High, 1968) – Managing Director, African Heritage Cultural Arts Center
  • Michelle Delancy (Miami Southridge Senior, 1988) – Miami-Dade County 11th Judicial Circuit Court Judge
  • René Garcia (Hialeah Senior High, 1993) – Miami-Dade County Commissioner, Former State Senator
  • Bobby Flam (Miami Beach Senior High, 1963) – Owner of Jumbo’s Restaurant, Civil Rights Advocate, James Beard Foundation Award Recipient
  • Jamar Roberts (New World School of the Arts, 2001) – Former Resident Choreographer of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre and Bessie Award recipient for Outstanding Performer 
  • Donald Slesnick, II (Miami Senior High, 1961) – Former Mayor of Coral Gables, Orange Bowl Committee President and Chair

The reception, an intimate and elegant gathering, served as the official launch of the For the Love of Learning Gala, the premier fundraising benefit for Miami-Dade County Public Schools’ underprivileged students, helping them transcend homelessness, attend college, and bridge the technology gap.

With the induction of the Class of 2025, the M-DCPS Alumni Hall of Fame now includes 68 distinguished members, underscoring the district’s legacy of producing leaders, innovators, and changemakers who continue to make an impact far beyond South Florida.
